During orientation, you will have three different advising sessions that will help you craft a balanced and interesting first semester class schedule.
Advising at Orientation
First, you will attend a session that gives you an introduction to your academic school, programs to support you through your first year, and ways to enhance your degree outside of the classroom. In addition, we’ll go more in depth about degree requirements to help you continue thinking about your first semester courses.
In your second session, you will have a chance to meet with your orientation leader and other students in your same major/school to review your pre-advising planning guide and to discuss the advising information you received throughout the day. In this session, your orientation leader will help you develop a draft class schedule so that you are ready for your final orientation advising session.
On the second day of your orientation program, you will meet with academic advisors one-on-one or in a small group to discuss your plan for your first semester as an IUPUI Jaguar! In this third and final session, you will register for classes and will leave orientation with your first semester schedule.
