Your transfer credit report is also a great tool to determine how your transfer courses counted. Your transfer credit report is located in the Student Center in One. You will see that your transferred courses came to IUPUI as either distributed or undistributed credit. Distributed credits are classes that replace an exact course already offered at IUPUI. You can tell in the transfer credit report if a course was distributed because it will be listed as an incoming course with its matching equivalent. Undistributed credits are classes that IUPUI does not have an exact match for. These credits will be listed as an incoming course, but with an equivalent course that has a “-UN” after it. These credits may still count toward your program of study and your curriculum or they may just count as extra electives.

Resolving Undistributed Credit
There are three things you need to do to resolve your undistributed credit.
Prepare Your Materials
A syllabus will be your best support for showing what that class entailed. Gather a syllabus for each course that is listed as undistributed. If you did not keep a copy of your syllabus or you no longer have access to your online portal (like Blackboard), you will need a copy of the course description and information of what textbooks were used in the course. Most institutions have course descriptions listed on their websites. The registrar's office at your previous institution will also be helpful in this process as they will likely have the course description on file. Make sure that the materials for each class have their own title (e.g., Ball State HIST 150).
Once you have gathered your materials, you will want to save them electronically. Either email them to yourself, put them on a USB drive, or upload them to a cloud (e.g., Google Drive, iCloud, IU Box). You will want to bring these documents with you (electronically) to orientation or when you meet with your academic advisor.
Trust the Process
After you provide your materials to your academic advisor, your advisor will submit a request for evaluation for each individual undistributed course. The processing and review of this request can take four to six weeks. You will receive an email with the decision once it is made, and you will see the update reflected in your transfer credit report. If you do not receive a decision after six weeks, your academic advisor is your main point of contact.
